About me

Born in India and after graduating from a prestigious University, Sabari Sen worked as an animation artist at an advertising agency. This job offered her the freedom to capture the world around her through oil paint and acrylic media and experiment with different genres of art. Before
leaving for England in 1990, she worked in several advertising agencies honing and refining her painting skills. Sabari’s role as a graphic designer enabled her to develop an in-depth understanding and an appreciation of the intricacies of a broad range of media, including oil painting.

Today, her creative practice produces both wall art and three-dimensional artifacts.

Her aim is to create ceramic pieces that combine the aesthetic of a painting with the functionality and simplicity of purpose associated with a plate, a vase or a jar. In this vein and given her decades of exposure to both Eastern and Western styles, Sabari’s work merges with the elegance of Western utility and with the vibrancy of Eastern colour and design.

Her works are not confined to a freestanding three-dimensional piece, they also find themselves as part of a mixed media artwork on the wall. These are expressed as individual ceramic tiles or as an integral part of a painting.
Sabari has many pieces available to view and purchase and also works on a commission basis.
